The world relies on a variety of different sources of energy. Fossil fuels — including oil, natural gas and coal–accounted for over 80 percent of the energy consumed in 2018. Renewable sources such as solar energy, wind power, biomass, and hydroelectricity comprise 14 percent. Nuclear energy accounts for another 5percent. Different countries have different energy sources to balance environmental and economic requirements.
Energy is present in nature in many forms, including sunlight and wind, waves, ocean and many more. When harnessed, and transformed into more efficient forms of energy, like heat or electricity, they are called primary sources. These energy sources become non-renewable sources of energy when they are exhausted.
A lot of fossil https://leonardogiombini.it/ideals-data-room-the-backbone-of-secure-digital-deals/ fuels and a few of the other energy sources that are not renewable can be harmful to the environment. Mining oil, for instance can devastate the forests that are virgin to the earth. Hydraulic fracturing (fracking) can cause earthquakes and water pollution. The burning of coal releases carbon dioxide, contributing to global warming.
Fortunately, many of the most promising sources of energy are sustainable and renewable. Hydropower, wind and solar, for instance, can produce electricity without the need to dig for new supplies.
Tidal and Wave Power are the other renewable energy sources that are emerging. However, in order to be used on a massive scale they must have effective distribution networks. These need to be built using a source of non-renewable energy sources. These sources are not able to provide the majority of our energy needs. It’s important to remember that the cost of renewable energy equipment has drastically decreased in recent years and that efficiency is increasing.
